CHRIST-CENTERED
We are called to make Jesus Christ central in our lives, because He is Lord of the Church and it's around Him that our mission, values, priorities and hopes revolve. We are not perfect, but we strive to become more like Him in our lives. He loved us so much that His love and sacrifice is a model for us as we relate to one another.
SPIRITUAL FITNESS
We are committed to equipping believers and building up the body of Christ by becoming living examples of biblical teaching and effective training. We believe that every person has something of value to offer and that people mature Spiritually as they give of themselves. Hence, we are committed to laity and clergy development.
AN APPRECIATION FOR CREATIVITY, INNOVATION AND EXCELLENCE
We encourage creativity and innovation, flexibility, adaptability and room to fail. We are more concerned with the effectiveness in ministry than with tradition. We believe that the God of our salvation deserves the best we have to offer. We are committed to glorify God in our excellence.
A GRACE FOR DIFFERENCE
We believe that the Church should not focus on guilt as the motivation for transformation, but inspire and encourage members to live Christ-centered lives from a motivation of love and thankfulness to God.
LEADERSHIP OF INTEGRITY
We believe in not a perfect leadership but an honest leadership. We strive to develop Christian character and Christ-like lives in all that we do, say and become.
A COMFORTING AND ENCOURAGING FAMILY
We are committed to authentic or real fellowship. We value community, laughter, play, commitment, loyalty and accountability.
AN ARTS CENTERED CELEBRATION OF WORSHIP
Worship is a key component of our relationship of God's love and faithfulness. We are committed to worship and praise God through music and all useful arts and technology.
A LIBERATING EVANGELISM
Jesus, in His mission statement in the synagogue, encouraged us to go beyond the confines of comfort to those who need to be set free, liberated from oppression, recovery of sight from blinding difficulties and circumstances and to bring the Gospel to the lost and those who have loss by all available means.
A SAFE PLACE FOR HEALING AND RECOVERY
We are committed to provide a non-threatening environment and support for the healing and recovery for the members and community of Kainos. We hear the words of Jesus when he says, "Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted." We have been called into a ministry of comfort and healing.
GIVING AS AN ACT OF WORSHIP
We are committed to give generously, regularly, joyfully and sacrificially to the Lord through the Church. Giving may be the most tangible expression of our faith. We also believe that the question is not, how much of my money should I give to God, but how much of God's money should I keep for myself? Not equal giving but equal sacrifice.
PRAY IN SEASON AND OUT OF SEASON
We are committed to praying unceasingly. Our ministries and activities of Kainos Community Church will be characterized by reliance on prayer in their conception, planning and implementation.
DIVERSITY, WITH A PARTICULAR FOCUS ON AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURE
We believe that in the full Body of Christ, the Holy Spirit has blessed us with a rich diversity of religious, cultural, educational socioeconomic backgrounds. We will celebrate our diversity and focus on the rich culture of African American people.
